Things Are Popping

ScienceWorksMuseum in Ashland is inaugurating its NEW ART GALLERY with an exhibition of my science-inspired paintings. The gallery is open already if you want to stop in (Wednesday-Sunday, 10:00am-5:00pm), but the OFFICIAL OPENING CELEBRATION will be JUNE 7 from 5:00-8:00 during the Ashland Gallery Association’s First Friday Artwalk. I’d love to see you on June 7.

Here’s a close-up of the design on my T-shirt. No explanation needed. Great graphic. I wore this to the Creativity Conference at Southern Oregon University.

Belle Fiore Winery will be exhibiting a collection of my new pastel paintings during the month of June. Some of these works have not been seen publicly before. The artworks explore fluidity, viscosity, embryonic forms and reflections on water. While you are at Belle Fiore, enjoy the beautiful old-world Italianate architecture and stunning views, and taste some of Belle Fiore’s elegant wines. Hours are Wednesday-Sunday, 12:00pm- 5:00pm.

This past April, I participated in the Oregon Fringe Festival, working with two students from Southern Oregon University to create a 1.5 minute video animation based on 8 of my black-and-white drawings and poems from 1968. The video features a mysterious magician named “Morphis.” You can watch the video on Vimeo. See the original set of drawings and poems on my website gallery Visit in the Night Mirror.
